What is the vehicle discount?
The GM Military Discount allows eligible members of the U.S. Military to purchase or lease eligible vehicles at a special discounted price that is below MSRP. Plus, you can combine the discount with most current offers to save even more. When you build a vehicle to your exact specifications on this site, you can view MSRP and the GM Military Discount price — simply follow the prompts.
Which GM vehicles are eligible?
Many new GM cars; SUVs; crossovers; midsize, light-duty and HD pickup trucks; and passenger and cargo vans are eligible. See a list of eligible vehicles. Vehicle eligibility may change over time, so check before you buy.
What is ID.me?
ID.me is one of four companies selected by the federal government to provide a Single Sign On for American citizens that will be accepted across all government websites over the next two years. By confirming your documentation through ID.me, your identity will be verified, making you eligible for the GM Military Discount.
How do I take advantage of the GM Military Discount?
Visit ID.me to create an account, or if you already have one, log in with ID.me, and then on the GM Military Discount landing page click "Get Authorization Number.”
What should I bring as proof of eligibility?
Once you’ve logged onto our site through ID.me, your identity will be verified, which means you’ll no longer be required to provide proof of eligibility at the dealer. However, you must still bring your authorization number — along with a copy of your driver’s license with the license number redacted — to your dealer when you’re ready to purchase/lease a new vehicle.
If I am overseas, can I take advantage of the GM Military Discount?
Yes, you can receive the discount when you purchase and take delivery in the United States. It’s quick and easy to arrange right on this website – even if you’re stationed overseas. Click “Get Authorization” to get started.
How many vehicles am I eligible to purchase/lease?
You may purchase/lease up to two (2) eligible, new and unused GM vehicles per calendar year.
Can I share the GM Military Discount?
Yes, you can share the discount with your spouse and household members.
How long do I have to keep a vehicle to qualify for the GM Military Discount?
Vehicles must be retained for a minimum of six (6) months from the vehicle delivery date.
I recently bought/leased a new GM vehicle. Can I apply my GM Military Discount savings to that vehicle?
No, previous purchases/leases are not eligible.
Does my authorization number expire?
Authorization numbers are valid for 90 days toward the purchase or lease of an eligible, new vehicle. You must take delivery of the vehicle prior to the authorization number expiring.
What happens to my authorization number if I don’t use it before it expires?
If you don’t use your authorization number prior to the expiration date, the authorization will be added back into your account. You will have to obtain a new authorization number by following the prompts in the Programs menu.
Can I combine the GM Military Discount with most current offers?
In most cases, yes. Either see current offers on this site, or visit your GM Dealer for details to see how the values add up.
Can I combine this discount with the GM Mobility Program?
Yes, the GM Military Discount can be combined with GM Mobility reimbursements.
Can I combine this discount with Earnings from any GM Rewards Cards?
Yes, you can combine the GM Military Discount with Earnings from any one of the GM Rewards Cards. Earnings from GM Rewards Cards are in addition to most current incentives GM may offer. Visit buypowercard.com for more information.
Do I have to purchase or lease through GM Financial?
No. You can purchase or lease through any financial institution. However, some APR offers are exclusive to specific financial institutions.
Does the purchase/lease require a down payment?
Your dealership will be able to provide details on the down payment for your chosen vehicle.
Can I receive this discount from any GM Dealer?
This program is available through all participating U.S. GM Dealers and is voluntary on the part of the dealers. Dealer participation is on a vehicle line basis. Please inform your dealer of your intention to use the GM Military Discount during your first contact with your dealer. If your dealer elects not to participate, you may visit another dealer.
Can I order a vehicle through this program, rather than choosing one from my GM Dealer’s inventory?
Yes, you can receive the discount when you order through a participating GM Dealer.
Are dealer-installed options covered by this discount (e.g., theft-deterrent devices)?
No. Any additional dealer-installed options, conversion/upfit packages, General Motors Protection Plans and other extra-charge items will be supplied at a price agreed upon between the customer and the dealer.
Are dealer demonstration vehicles included in this program?
Yes, if the vehicle has fewer than 7,500 miles and a dealer demo allowance has not been paid on the vehicle. See your dealer for details.
Can I use a trade-in with this program?
